Welcome to the Coven.
The Writing Coven (TWC) was created to connect with other writers and readers who love the gothic, horror, and fantasy genres as much as I do. TWC is an intentional newsletter where I’ll share writing tips, resources, updates, and curated content to build a community of people to share this journey with.
Creating a space where I can share my processes with people who care and want to know what that is feels pretty cool. You don’t have to be a writer to benefit from my content, all creators are welcome. And lovers of the supernatural, of course.
TWC is meant to be a communal space and a direct link to potential readers. On top of writing tips and exclusive details on publishing my first book, you might get a crash out or two.
There will be free posts open to everyone, but for the ones ready to join the dark side, there are plenty of benefits for you and all it costs is your blood.

About me
I’m Brianna [bree-ANN-nah] Williams, but you can call me Bri. I’m a Black and queer writer with a PhD in fangology. The genres I brew in are gothic fantasy, horror, and mystery. Though I’m not a romance author, I use romance as a plot device in my stories. A lot of my characters are queer ranging to fit the demographics I fit into myself.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Cincinnati, my poetry has been published in two (and counting) literary journals. I’m obsessed with horror, Interview with the Vampire, and Game of Thrones. When I’m not writing, you can find me doomscrolling or searching for the next movie to log into letterboxd.
